For a wedding with Turkish and English-speaking families, The Private Wedding App gives you one invitation link where each guest picks Turkish or English, with the buttons, RSVP form and menus translated. The kına gecesi and the wedding are separate events with their own replies, each guest group gets a private link that shows only the events it is invited to, and guests choose their meal and flag allergies for the dinner. It costs $189 once for lifetime access, or $19.99/month (£159 or £17.99 in the UK, €189 or €19.99 in the eurozone). 3-day free trial.
One family is Turkish, the other British or from elsewhere in Europe. The Turkish side may be in Istanbul, in Izmir, or in Germany or London, and the wedding itself could be in Turkey, in the UK or somewhere between. There is a kına gecesi, the henna night, often with a different guest list from the wedding, there may be a nikah at the municipality, and then the düğün, the big celebration. Grandparents read Turkish, the English-speaking friends have never been to a henna night, and the families share everything on WhatsApp. This guide shows how to run both events from one invitation in Turkish and English.
Explain the henna night and the wedding to both sides
The kına gecesi is traditionally the bride's evening with the women of both families and close friends, a night or two before the wedding, with henna, music, and songs that can make everyone cry. Some families keep it women only, others invite everyone. The nikah, the civil ceremony, is often held at a wedding hall run by the municipality, and the düğün is the celebration, sometimes with the takı töreni, when guests pin gold or money on the couple.
Your British or European guests will want to know what to wear, whether they should bring a gift, and what happens at each moment. Your Turkish guests will want to know the schedule and the address. Write each event with its time, place and dress code, and add short explanations in an info section shown in English only.
The Private Wedding App's schedule runs over several days, with a tab per day and a venue card with a map for each place. See the digital wedding invitation.
- Kına gecesi: date, time, place, dress code, who is invited
- Nikah: time and place
- Düğün: time, place, dress code
- A short English note on henna, takı and gifts
- Hotels and transfers for guests travelling
Turkish and English on one invitation
Turkish is one of the guest languages, so the buttons, the RSVP form and the menus are already translated. You write your own texts in one language and fill the other under each one, or let the AI Translation button fill the empty fields and then adjust them, especially the warm, formal phrases Turkish families expect on a wedding invitation.
Each guest picks Turkish or English when they open the link, and you can send the Turkish side a link that opens straight in Turkish with ?lang=tr. If part of the family lives in Germany and the younger cousins read German better, add German as a third language.

Two events, two guest lists, one place
Switch on 'This wedding has multiple events' and add the kına gecesi and the wedding, and the nikah too if it is separate. Then create a group for each guest list: one for guests invited to both, one for the wedding only, and if your henna night is women only, a group for the women invited to it. Each group's private link shows only its events, its schedule moments and its info, and asks for replies to those alone.
A household where the women come to the henna night and the men do not works best as separate guests on the list, so each person can sit in the right group. The Guests page shows attending, pending and declined for each event, so you know how many are coming to the henna night and how many to the wedding.
See how multi-event RSVP keeps separate counts.
Meals and allergies for the wedding dinner
If the wedding has a seated dinner, list the dishes in the Meal Options tab in both languages. On the henna night, if the food is served as a buffet or meze, untick 'Ask the meal choice for this event'. Dietary notes and a severe-allergy flag stay on the form for everyone.
The caterer day sheet gives the venue plates per dish, the allergy list and a breakdown per table. More on the meal and allergy tracker.
Sending on WhatsApp to the whole family
Turkish families share invitations on WhatsApp, often to a family elder who forwards it on. Sending a private link to each household keeps the replies in your list instead of a group chat.
Each guest row has a WhatsApp button that opens a chat with your message and that guest's link, the group link if they are in a group, so a wedding-only guest never receives the henna night link. Write your own message once in the WhatsApp message card so guests recognise who it is from, and use sending mode to go through the list with a progress bar.
Seating a big wedding
With RSVP per event, the seating plan has its own tables for each event and only guests who accepted that event appear. Each household is one card you drag to a table, tables take up to 20 seats or more with the pencil, and severe allergies carry their flag onto the plan.
Plan it with the seating chart.

Write it once and fill the second language under each text, or use the AI Translation button and check the wording. In The Private Wedding App each guest picks Turkish or English when they open the link, and Turkish is a built-in guest language, so the buttons and RSVP form are already translated.
Can the henna night have a different guest list from the wedding?
Yes. Add the kına gecesi and the wedding as separate events and create a group for each guest list. In The Private Wedding App each group's private link shows only the events it is invited to, and replies are counted per event.
What should British guests know about a kına gecesi?
That it is a festive evening, usually a night or two before the wedding, often centred on the bride and the women of the family, with henna, music and dancing. Tell them the dress code and whether men are invited.
Can I send the invitation on WhatsApp?
Yes. Each guest row has a WhatsApp button that opens a chat with your message and that guest's own link, the right group link if they are in a group.
Can we add German for the family in Germany?
Yes. An invitation can have up to three languages, and each guest picks theirs when they open the link.
How much does The Private Wedding App cost?
$189 once for lifetime access, or $19.99/month. In the UK it is £159 once or £17.99 a month, in the eurozone €189 once or €19.99/month. Both plans include the bilingual invitation, RSVP per event, meals and seating. 3-day free trial.
