The Private Wedding App (“we”, “our”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal information.
When you create an account and use The Private Wedding App, we collect the following information: • Account information: your name, email address, and password. • Wedding details: names, wedding date, venue, schedule, guest list, RSVP responses, seating plans, and other wedding-related content you provide. • Media: photos and videos you upload for your invitation or moodboard. • Payment information: processed securely by our third-party payment provider (Stripe). We never store your full card details. • Usage data: anonymous analytics such as pages visited, device type, and browser — used solely to improve the product. • Contact form submissions: your name, email, and message when you reach out to us.
We use your information to: • Provide and maintain your wedding invitation, RSVP system, and planning tools. • Send you important account-related communications (e.g., purchase confirmation, support responses). • Improve our product and user experience based on anonymous, aggregated usage patterns. • Respond to your enquiries via our contact form. We will never sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
We only share your data with: • Supabase: our database and authentication provider, which stores your wedding data securely. • Stripe: our payment processor, which handles transactions. • Vercel: our hosting provider, which serves the application. • Resend: our email provider, used solely for transactional emails (e.g., contact form responses). All third-party providers are GDPR-compliant and bound by strict data processing agreements.
Your guests' RSVP data (names, attendance, meal choices, dietary notes) is stored securely and is only accessible to you, the couple. Guest data is never used for marketing, shared with advertisers, or sold to third parties. Guests do not need to create an account to RSVP. We do not track guests with cookies or advertising pixels.
Your wedding data is retained for 18 months from your purchase date. Your invitation remains live for 6 months after your wedding date. You can export your guest list data (CSV) at any time. After the retention period, your data is permanently deleted from our systems. You may also request early deletion at any time by contacting us.
Under GDPR and applicable data protection laws, you have the right to: • Access: request a copy of all personal data we hold about you. • Rectification: correct any inaccurate information. • Deletion: request that we delete your account and all associated data. • Portability: receive your data in a machine-readable format. • Objection: object to specific processing of your data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at our contact page. We will respond within 30 days.
We use only essential cookies required for the application to function (e.g., authentication session). We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies.
We take the security of your data seriously. All data is transmitted over HTTPS with TLS encryption. Data at rest is encrypted in our database. Access to production systems is restricted and monitored.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice on our website. The date of the last update is displayed at the top of this page.
