The best wedding website for
a wedding across two countries.

October 202610 min readThe Private Wedding App
Quick answer

The best wedding website for international couples in 2026 is The Private Wedding App, a full wedding planning platform built for weddings across countries and languages: each guest opens one private link and picks their language, the guest pages run in 26 languages including Arabic and Hebrew, each country's events get their own guest group, RSVP and seating plan, cash gifts come in by card in ten currencies, and the budget runs in yours. It costs $19.99/month or $189 once, priced locally in nine currencies such as €19.99 or €189 in the eurozone. 3-day free trial. On the US platforms, the limits are written in their own help pages: Zola only ships within the United States, The Knot's RSVP page wording is fixed and cannot be changed, and Joy has you duplicate each page per language and tag every guest by hand.

Most wedding websites were built for one kind of wedding: a US couple, US guests, a US registry, one language. That covers a lot of weddings. It does not cover yours if you live in Dubai and marry in Italy, if one family is in Germany and the other in Lebanon, or if there is a civil ceremony in one country and the big celebration in another. Then the questions change. Can my grandmother read the RSVP in her language? Can guests in one country be invited to the civil ceremony and guests in the other only to the party? Can people give a gift from where they live? Does the planning side even work in my currency? I checked what each platform publishes about these questions on its own help pages, and set it next to what The Private Wedding App does.

A note on method: I checked every competitor fact below on October 13, 2026, on each product's own help center or FAQ: Zola's FAQ on international shipping, The Knot's help center on RSVP wording and on Canadian registries, and Joy's help article on setting up a website for guests in multiple languages. I judged each tool on what decides a wedding across two countries: can every guest read and answer in their own language, can each country get its own events, can guests give from where they live, and does the planning side work for a couple who is not in the US.

Checked October 13, 2026 on each product's own pages. Zola: zola.com FAQ "Does Zola ship internationally?" ("At this time, Zola only ships within the United States"). The Knot: helpcenter.theknot.com articles "Can I change the wording on my RSVP page?" and "Can I add a Canadian Registry?" ("Our current system can only link to Amazon Canada"). Joy: withjoy.com help article "Setting up your website for guests in multiple languages". Zola's private events come from my earlier checks of its help pages; The Knot's seating chart is described on its App Store listing, checked October 14, 2026. "Not documented" or "Not checked" means I did not find it on the product's own pages, not that the feature is missing. Policies change, so check before you commit.

Review 01Zola

ZolaA US planner whose own FAQ says it only ships within the United States

Zola puts a guest list, a seating chart, a budget and a website in one free planner, with a registry among its main tools. For a wedding across two countries, the registry is where it stops: its own FAQ says "At this time, Zola only ships within the United States", with no shipping to territories such as Puerto Rico or Guam either. A guest in Madrid or Melbourne can look at the registry. The gift cannot reach them, or you, outside the US.

Its private events let you invite some guests to an event, though that event only appears to them at the RSVP step rather than on the website itself. Which languages guests can read the site in is not documented on the Zola FAQ pages I checked, so the table says so rather than guessing.

Works well
  • +Guest list, seating and budget in one place
  • +Private events with RSVP per event
Falls short
  • −Ships within the US only, per its own FAQ
  • −Private events appear only at the RSVP step
  • −Guest languages not documented
  • −Registry gifts cannot reach guests or couples abroad

Review 02The Knot

The KnotYour text in any language, with RSVP wording that stays fixed

The Knot lets you type most titles and text on your wedding website yourself, so you can write in whatever language your family reads. The RSVP page is where that stops. Its help center says the wording on the RSVP page "is fixed and can't be changed", so the form every guest has to fill in alone stays in the platform's own words, whatever language the rest of the page is in.

Registries follow the same US pattern. Its help center answer to "Can I add a Canadian Registry?" is that its system can only link to Amazon Canada. For a couple with family in Toronto, Paris or Beirut, the gift side was built for US stores first.

Works well
  • +Most website text editable in your own language
  • +Checklist and budget tools
Falls short
  • −RSVP page wording fixed, per its own help center
  • −Canadian registry links limited to Amazon Canada
  • −Guests cannot choose a language
  • −Seating chart does not state it uses the replies

Review 03Joy

JoyEvery page duplicated per language, every guest tagged by hand

Joy is a free website that handles a second language through guest management, and it puts the work on you. Its help article describes five steps: tag each guest with a language, choose the languages guests can pick in Event Settings, restrict each existing page to one tag, create a new page for each language and write its content yourself, then write a version of every RSVP question per language and assign it to the right tag. It says Joy "won't translate page titles automatically".

Joy can show its own menus and buttons in the guest's chosen language. Your own words, the schedule, the travel notes and the questions, exist twice and change twice. For a wedding where guests in two countries also get different events, each late change is made per page, per language, per tag.

Works well
  • +Free
  • +Its own menus and buttons in the guest's chosen language
  • +Each guest sees only their own events
Falls short
  • −Each page duplicated and written by hand per language
  • −Every RSVP question rewritten per language and tagged
  • −Every guest must be tagged with a language
  • −No translation of your own text
“

“A wedding across two countries is not a US wedding with a translated homepage. It is two families, two sets of events and often two currencies, answered on one link.”

Review 04The Private Wedding App

Built for weddings across countries
The Private
Wedding App
$19.99/mo

The Private Wedding App is a full wedding planning platform: the invitation and wedding website, the guest list and RSVP, meal choices with dietary notes and allergies, the seating chart, the day schedule, a budget tracker, vendors, a checklist, an AI planning assistant, guest photo sharing and cash gifts, all reading the same guest list. It was built for the weddings US platforms treat as an edge case.

Languages first. Your invitation runs in up to three languages on one private link. Each guest picks theirs in a popup when they open it, and their choice is remembered. Buttons, navigation and RSVP labels translate automatically in 26 guest languages, right-to-left Arabic and Hebrew included. Your own text is written once, and a one-click AI translation fills the other languages in context, leaving names, addresses and times as they are and never overwriting a line you wrote yourself. A schedule moment or info section can be shown only to guests reading one language, for example travel tips meant for the family flying in.

Then the two countries. Add each event with its own date, time and place, say a civil ceremony in Lyon and a celebration in Beirut. Create a guest group for each side and tick the events it is invited to. Each group gets its own link and sees only its events, RSVPs per event, and gets its own seating plan per event. Guests flying in can add their arrival and return flights to the RSVP, so your arrivals list sorts itself by landing time.

And the money. Cash gifts are paid by card inside the invitation, in the currency you choose among ten (euro, US dollar, pound, Swiss franc, dirham, Canadian and Australian dollar, Swedish and Danish krone, zloty), and paid out to your own bank account. Registry link cards work with any store, PayPal or bank details. The budget runs in your currency. The plan itself is priced in nine currencies: $19.99/month or $189 once, €19.99 or €189 in the eurozone, £17.99 or £159 in the UK. Your own dashboard runs in 11 languages (English, French, Spanish, German, Brazilian Portuguese, Arabic, Hindi, Russian, Swedish, Danish and Norwegian).

VerdictWhich app should you use?

It depends on what you're optimising for:

If your registry is the heart of the wedding and every guest has a US address, Zola keeps registry, guest list and seating together, with its own FAQ saying it only ships within the United States.

If your families read one language and you can live with an RSVP page in the platform's own wording, The Knot lets you write the rest of the site in yours, with registry linking built around US stores and Amazon Canada.

If the budget is zero and someone can own the translating for months, Joy's tag-and-duplicate method works, with every page, every question and every late change done once per language by hand.

And if the wedding really is across two countries, with guests in two languages, events on two sides of a border and gifts coming from everywhere, The Private Wedding App is the one built that way from the start. See how per-country events work on the multi-event RSVP page, open the live demo wedding and pick a language the way a guest would, then start the free trial.

01What a wedding across two countries actually needs

Language is the first thing couples think of. It is rarely the only thing. These are the five questions that decide whether a platform works for a binational or destination wedding, and how The Private Wedding App answers each one.

What you needHow The Private Wedding App does it
Every guest reads and answers in their languageOne link, a language popup on opening, up to 3 languages per invitation, 26 guest languages for buttons and RSVP labels

02Two countries, two guest lists, one wedding

Many binational weddings are really two events. A civil ceremony at the town hall in one country, with close family. A bigger celebration in the other, with everyone. Sometimes a welcome dinner the night before for the guests who flew in. Not every guest is invited to everything, and nobody should open the link and see an event they are not part of.

On The Private Wedding App this is set once. You add each event in the RSVP tab with its date, time and venue. On the Guests page you create one group per side or per circle, and tick its events. Each group's link shows only its events, guests accept or decline each one, and you get a running total per event plus a separate seating plan for each. A wedding across two countries becomes one guest list with two clear headcounts, one for each caterer.

  • Civil ceremony group: the town hall and the family lunch only
  • Celebration group: the welcome dinner, the party and the brunch
  • Close family: every event, in both countries
  • Each group in the languages it reads, on the same invitation
  • One guest list behind all of them, with meals and allergies per event

03How to set it up before you send anything

You can do the whole setup on the free trial and open each group's link yourself to see exactly what that side of the family will see.

  • Builder: write your invitation in your main language, add up to two more, and run the AI translation to fill them
  • Read every translated line and change any word you want, it stays yours
  • RSVP tab: turn on RSVP per event and add each event with its country, date, time and venue
  • Turn on flight details if guests are flying in
  • Guests page: create a group per side, tick its events, and share each group's link by WhatsApp, text or email
  • Gifts: switch on the Gifts page, choose your currency and connect your payout account

See it for yourself.

Explore the whole platform: cinematic invitation, RSVP with meals and allergies, guest list, seating chart, budget, vendors, checklist, moodboard, photo sharing and the AI planner. No account needed.

Frequently asked questions

Which wedding website apps work outside the US?

The Private Wedding App is built for couples and guests outside the US: guests pick their language on one private link with 26 guest languages available, each country's events get their own group, RSVP and seating plan, cash gifts work in 10 currencies, and the plan is priced in nine currencies, $19.99/month or $189 once (€19.99 or €189 in the eurozone). US platforms document their limits on their own pages: Zola only ships within the United States, The Knot's RSVP wording is fixed and its Canadian registry linking covers Amazon Canada only, and Joy's multiple languages mean duplicating pages and tagging guests by hand.

What is the best wedding website for international couples?

The Private Wedding App, a full wedding planning platform where each guest reads the invitation and answers the RSVP in their own language, each country gets its own events and headcount, gifts come in by card in your currency, and the seating chart, budget, vendors and AI assistant sit behind the same guest list. It costs $19.99/month or $189 once. 3-day free trial.

Is there a wedding planning app for couples from two countries?

Yes. The Private Wedding App plans one wedding for two families: one private link in up to three languages, each guest choosing theirs, events in each country with their own guest groups, RSVP per event, a seating plan per event, flight details for guests flying in, and a budget in your currency. Your own dashboard runs in 11 languages (English, French, Spanish, German, Brazilian Portuguese, Arabic, Hindi, Russian, Swedish, Danish and Norwegian), so each partner can plan in theirs.

How do I make a wedding website for guests in different countries?

Give everyone one link and let each guest choose their language, rather than building one site per country. On The Private Wedding App you write your text once, the AI translation fills the other languages, and guests pick theirs on opening. If guests in each country are invited to different events, create a guest group per country: each group's link shows only its events. Turn on flight details for guests flying in, and share each link by WhatsApp, text or email, with a printable QR card in each language for older relatives.

Can guests abroad give cash gifts through a wedding website?

On The Private Wedding App, yes: guests give by card inside the invitation, in the currency you choose among ten, including euro, US dollar, pound, Swiss franc and dirham, and the money is paid out to your own bank account. A small processing fee applies, 2.5% for couples in the EU and UK and 3.5% elsewhere, added on the guest's side by default. You can also add link cards to any registry, PayPal or your bank details. Zola, by contrast, states in its FAQ that it only ships within the United States.

Can a wedding website handle a civil ceremony in one country and a celebration in another?

The Private Wedding App does it with events and guest groups: add the civil ceremony and the celebration with their own date, time and venue, create a group for each circle of guests, and tick the events each group is invited to. Each group's link shows only its events, guests RSVP per event, and you get a headcount and a seating plan for each one.

Is The Private Wedding App priced in euros and pounds?

Yes. It is priced in nine currencies: $19.99/month or $189 once in US dollars, €19.99/month or €189 once in euros, £17.99/month or £159 once in pounds, plus Canadian, Australian, New Zealand and Singapore dollars, dirham and rupee. The monthly plan starts with a 3-day free trial, and nothing is charged if you cancel before it ends. The one-time plan has no subscription at all.
