Quick answer

A wedding in Singapore in 2026 typically costs S$30,000 to S$55,000 for 200 to 300 guests according to themoneybees.co (S$35,000 to S$90,000 according to smartcalculator.sg), and 40 to 60% of it is the banquet, quoted per table of ten at about S$1,400 to S$2,500 in mid-range hotels and S$2,800 to S$5,500 in luxury hotels, plus 10% service charge and 9% GST, according to SingaporeBrides price data compiled by divedeals.sg and themoneybees.co. The Private Wedding App's budget works in S$ with your price per table, builds the catering line from the guests who actually confirmed and tracks every deposit and instalment, as part of the full wedding planner at S$24.99/month or S$249 once, lifetime. 3-day free trial.

Ask what a wedding costs in Singapore and you get two kinds of answer: a single average that fits nobody, or a vendor quote that leaves out the service charge. The honest answer is a formula. In Singapore the banquet is the largest line by far, it is priced per table of ten, and everything else follows the number of guests you invite. This guide gives the published 2026 figures with their sources, explains the "++" on every quote, and walks through a budget built the way a Singapore wedding is actually paid for.

Step 01

The banquet is the budget

Most Singapore couples spend between 40 and 60% of their whole wedding on the banquet. That is why every other decision, from the guest list to the date, is really a banquet decision. Change the number of guests by 30 and you have changed the budget by three tables, which is more than most couples spend on flowers.

Hotels and restaurants quote per table of ten. The published 2026 ranges, compiled by divedeals.sg from SingaporeBrides data and by themoneybees.co, put mid-range hotels at about S$1,400 to S$2,500 per table and luxury hotels at S$2,800 to S$5,500. The sources differ from each other, which is normal: packages change with the day, the season and what is included.

The budget tracker keeps the banquet as its own line with the deposit and the balance date, so you see it move every time the guest list moves.

Luxury hotel, low endS$2,800++S$3,357.20
Luxury hotel, high endS$5,500++S$6,594.50

Step 02

What "++" really adds

The two plus signs are the 10% service charge and the 9% GST. GST is charged on the service charge too, so the multiplier is 1.1 x 1.09 = 1.199. In plain words, every quote you receive is about 20% higher than the number printed in bold. A banquet quoted at S$1,800++ per table costs S$2,158.20 per table once both are added.

When you compare packages, convert everything to the nett price first. Then check what each package includes: free-flow beer and soft drinks, a corkage waiver, the wedding car, a room night, the solemnisation corner, or a minimum number of tables. Two quotes that look S$200 apart per table can be the same price once you add what one of them leaves out.

In the budget, enter the nett price per head once in the catering calculator and every total uses it.

03
Step 03

How many tables, and the minimum spend trap

Divide your expected guests by ten. 200 guests is 20 tables, 300 guests is 30. Add one table of buffer for late additions, then remove it again if the RSVPs come in lower. The family table and the VIP table count like any other.

The trap runs the other way for small weddings. Many hotel ballrooms carry a minimum number of tables, and a guest list below about 150 often lands under it, so you pay for tables nobody sits at. If your list is small, look at lunch, smaller function rooms or restaurants, where the minimum is lower.

Lunch is the other lever. According to the same 2026 price data, a lunch banquet costs about 15 to 25% less than a Saturday dinner at the same venue, and many couples combine it with the morning gatecrash and tea ceremony so the day ends earlier for elderly relatives.

The seating plan counts your tables of ten from confirmed guests, so you see early whether you are above or below the hotel's minimum.

Step 04

A worked budget, built from the guest count

Here is the method with real arithmetic. Take 200 guests at a mid-range hotel quoting S$1,400++ per table: 20 tables cost S$28,000 before charges and S$33,572 with service and GST. If the banquet is 60% of your wedding, the total is about S$55,950; if it is 40%, about S$83,930. That brackets the published ranges, which is exactly why they are so wide.

The rest of the budget is a list, not a mystery. Get a quote for each line, and record the deposit and the balance date the day you sign:

Each line in the budget tracker takes a payment schedule: deposit, instalments and final balance, each with its own date and a paid tick.

  • Banquet: tables x price x 1.199, deposit on signing, balance before the day
  • Bridal studio package: gown, suits, pre-wedding photoshoot
  • Actual-day photographer and videographer
  • Guo da li: betrothal gifts and the items for the bride's family
  • ROM solemnisation: venue, solemniser, small reception if separate
  • Morning programme: gatecrash games, tea ceremony set, wedding car
  • Hair and makeup for the morning and the evening look
  • Rings, invitations, favours, and the honeymoon
05
Step 05

What ang bao covers, and what it does not

Guests in Singapore aim to cover their seat, so a full banquet is largely offset by the ang bao of the people who attend. Two things break that: guests who confirm and do not come, and guests who never answer and get a seat anyway. HardwareZone threads are full of couples who paid for empty chairs. Treat the ang bao as a cushion, never as the plan, and see the 2026 ang bao rates for what guests are likely to give at your venue.

Everything else in the budget, from the bridal studio to the honeymoon, is yours to fund. That is why couples who keep the budget next to the RSVPs stay on track: the banquet number is the only one that moves every week.

The guest list shows who is still pending per event, so you chase them before the hotel's final count.

06
Step 06

Keep the real number in one place

In The Private Wedding App, the budget tracker works in the currency you type, so you set it to S$ once. Each expense line carries the estimate, the actual cost, what you have paid and a payment schedule for vendors paid in several parts, such as the banquet deposit and balance or the bridal studio instalments. Overdue and due-this-week payments appear at the top of the page.

The catering calculator is the Singapore part. Enter the nett price per head (the table price with service and GST, divided by ten) and the banquet line builds itself from the guests who confirmed on the RSVP, with a "What if" simulator for 20 more or 20 fewer guests. If you already keep a spreadsheet, import it as a CSV file. The same guest list then feeds the seating plan for tables of ten, so the number of tables you pay for and the number you fill are the same number.

Your next step: start the free trial, set the budget to S$ and enter your banquet quote, then stay at S$24.99 a month or pay S$249 once for lifetime access.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a wedding cost in Singapore in 2026?

Typically S$30,000 to S$55,000 for 200 to 300 guests according to themoneybees.co, and S$35,000 to S$90,000 according to smartcalculator.sg. The banquet makes up 40 to 60% of the total.

How much is a wedding banquet per table in Singapore?

About S$1,400 to S$2,500 per table of ten at mid-range hotels and S$2,800 to S$5,500 at luxury hotels in 2026, according to data compiled by divedeals.sg and themoneybees.co. Add 10% service charge and 9% GST, about 20% in total.

What does ++ mean on a wedding banquet price?

Plus 10% service charge and plus 9% GST, with GST charged on the service charge too. Multiply the quoted price by 1.199 to get the real cost.

How many tables do I need for 200 or 300 guests?

Ten guests per table, so 20 tables for 200 guests and 30 for 300. Keep one buffer table until the RSVPs are in.

Is a lunch banquet cheaper than dinner in Singapore?

Yes, about 15 to 25% cheaper than a Saturday dinner at the same venue according to 2026 price data compiled by divedeals.sg and themoneybees.co.

How much does a small wedding cost in Singapore?

Below about 150 guests many hotel ballrooms charge a minimum spend, so look at lunch, smaller function rooms or restaurants. Work it out the same way: guests divided by ten, times the nett table price, plus the other lines of your list.

Does the ang bao cover the cost of the wedding?

Partly. Guests aim to cover their seat at the banquet, so the banquet is largely offset by those who attend. No-shows and guests who never reply are the gap, which is why tracking RSVPs closely matters.

What is the best way to track a wedding budget in Singapore?

A budget connected to your RSVPs. The Private Wedding App builds the banquet line from confirmed guests times your price per head in S$, tracks deposits and instalments per vendor, and sits next to the guest list and seating plan, for S$24.99/month or S$249 once, lifetime.
